Incentives Are Currently Available for Your Business

  • The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is offering $1.5 Billion for public entities including states, local governments, tribes, and port authorities to deploy charging infrastructure and other surface transportation projects through its Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Program. DOT will provide reimbursement of up to 80% of total eligible project costs for most project types. Applications will be evaluated competitively and are due by February 28, 2024.

  • The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering $3 Billion for port authorities and state, regional, local, and tribal agencies with jurisdiction over ports, and air pollution control agencies to deploy zero-emission port equipment and to purchase and install charging infrastructure through its Clean Ports Program. EPA will provide reimbursement of up to $500 Million, up to 80-90% of total eligible project costs, depending on applicant and project details. Applications will be evaluated competitively and will be accepted between February 2024 and May 2024.

  • The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering $500M for school districts, charter schools, tribes, private school bus contractors, and eligible third parties to deploy clean and zero-emission school buses and to purchase and install L2 and DC fast chargers through its Clean School Bus (CSB) Rebate Program 2023. EPA will provide reimbursement of up to $145,000 - $345,000 per bus-and-charger bundle, depending on applicant and bus details. Awards will be made by lottery and applications are due January 31, 2024.

  • The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program allocates $5 billion in funding for EV charging infrastructure across 75,000 miles of highway across the country. Your organization must be within one mile of an established alternative fuel corridor to qualify and may need to meet other requirements as well.

  • The 30C Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit, commonly referred to as the “federal tax credit,” gives qualifying businesses a 30% tax credit, up to $100,000, for the purchase and installation of EV charging infrastructure. Businesses must have installed the stations between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2032, and must claim the credit on their federal tax return. Guidance on new eligibility requirements is forthcoming, based on prevailing wages and the applicant’s location within designated census tracts.

 

Your Sustainability Goals Are Within Reach in Arizona

  • Salt River Project (SRP) is offering $1,500 for each networked Level 2 EV charging port you install at your business, or $4,000 per port for government, non-profit, multifamily and school customers. You may also be eligible to receive up to $15,000 for each networked DC Fast Charger port you install at your business, or $20,000 per port for government, non-profit, multifamily, and school customers.

  • Salt River Project (SRP) Fleet Advisory Services will provide up to $20,000 for completing a study to convert your fleet to electric.

  • Tucson Electric Power’s Smart EV Charging Program offers incentives up to $9,000 per port for Level 2 Charging stations and up to $40,000 per port for DC Fast Chargers to commercial businesses, multi-family complexes and nonprofit customers that purchase and install EV charging ports at their location.

 

Home EV Charging Incentives in Arizona

  • Salt River Project’s (SRP) Electric Vehicle (EV) Price Plan offers a time-of-use (TOU) electricity rate for the first 10,000 customer with a qualified plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles. The pricing plan offers an additional opportunity to save by charging your vehicle during lower-priced super off-peak hours every day between 11p.m. and 5 a.m.

  • Residential SRP customers are eligible to receive a $250 instant rebate on a Level 2 Charger when purchased from SRP Marketplace.

  • Tucson Electric Power (TEP) offers Electric Discounts to residential customers who own and operate a highway-approved plug-in EV can receive a 5% reduction on their Base Power and Purchased Power and Fuel Adjustment Clause charges during off-peak time periods if they participate in their Time-of-Use or Demand Time-of-Use pricing plans. The customer of record must submit a copy of the vehicle's registration to qualify for the discount.

  • Tucson Electric Power (TEP) offers Home Electric Vehicle Chargers (EVC) Rebates to residential customers can claim a rebate covering up to 75% of the cost of installing an EVC. The rebate is up to $500 for a qualified two-way communicating EVC or up to $250 for a one-way, non-communicating EVC. The incentive will be issued as a credit on a qualifying customer’s TEP account. One incentive per EVC per highway-approved battery electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is allowed.

 

EV Incentives in Arizona

  • Arizona EVs are exempt from all emissions testing requirements in the state of Arizona. For more information contact the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality at 877.692.9227.

  • Arizona EVs are charged a reduced vehicle license tax (VLT). The VLT is $4 per $100 of assessed valuation in the first year and depreciated in subsequent years.

  • Arizona EVs with an alternative fuels vehicle license plate can use the HOV lanes at any time, regardless of the number of passengers.

  • Arizona alternative fuel vehicles, including EVs are allowed to park without penalty in areas designated for carpool operators.

  • Salt River Project (SRP) is offering electrification rebates. Get a rebate of up to $500 per forklift for the purchase or lease of each additional electric forklift operated at an SRP-served facility, a rebate of up to $2,000 per eligible forklift, if the forklift replaces an internal-combustion-powered forklift.

  • SRP customers can get a $1,000 rebate when they purchase or lease an EV from a local dealership.
