The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is offering $1.5 Billion for public entities including states, local governments, tribes, and port authorities to deploy charging infrastructure and other surface transportation projects through its Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Program. DOT will provide reimbursement of up to 80% of total eligible project costs for most project types. Applications will be evaluated competitively and are due by February 28, 2024.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering $3 Billion for port authorities and state, regional, local, and tribal agencies with jurisdiction over ports, and air pollution control agencies to deploy zero-emission port equipment and to purchase and install charging infrastructure through its Clean Ports Program. EPA will provide reimbursement of up to $500 Million, up to 80-90% of total eligible project costs, depending on applicant and project details. Applications will be evaluated competitively and will be accepted between February 2024 and May 2024.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering $500M for school districts, charter schools, tribes, private school bus contractors, and eligible third parties to deploy clean and zero-emission school buses and to purchase and install L2 and DC fast chargers through its Clean School Bus (CSB) Rebate Program 2023. EPA will provide reimbursement of up to $145,000 - $345,000 per bus-and-charger bundle, depending on applicant and bus details. Awards will be made by lottery and applications are due January 31, 2024.

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program allocates $5 billion in funding for EV charging infrastructure across 75,000 miles of highway across the country. Your organization must be within one mile of an established alternative fuel corridor to qualify and may need to meet other requirements as well.

The 30C Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit, commonly referred to as the “federal tax credit,” gives qualifying businesses a 30% tax credit, up to $100,000, for the purchase and installation of EV charging infrastructure. Businesses must have installed the stations between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2032, and must claim the credit on their federal tax return. Guidance on new eligibility requirements is forthcoming, based on prevailing wages and the applicant’s location within designated census tracts.

The Vermont Department of Housing and Commercial Development, in partnership with Green Mountain Power, is dedicating funding for Level 2 chargers supporting workplaces and Multi-family properties. Applications are currently being accepted on a first come, first served basis or until January 15, 2026.

The Vermont Department of Housing and Commercial Development, in partnership with Green Mountain Power, is dedicating funding for Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers for parking lots supporting public attractions. Up to $3,000 is available per port and up to $20,000 is available for site design and make ready costs for Level 2 chargers; up to $30,000 is available per port and up to $40,000 is available for site design and make ready costs for DC Fast Chargers. Applications will be competitive and will be accepted later this year.

Burlington Electric Department offers a rebate of up to $900 for the purchase and installation of a ChargePoint Home Flex for customers that have enrolled in BED’s Residential EV Rate. Eligible applicants must have purchased an EV charging station within 60 days of the acquisition of the EV.

Green Mountain Power (GMP) will give you a free Level 2 charger ($600 value) when you buy a new or used EV. Residential customers can charge up and save with a rate just for EV drivers! To enroll, you must have a compatible charger and agree to connect with GMP.

Vermont Electric Co-op is offering a $250 bill credit for the installation of a ChargePoint Home charging station. Members must commit to avoiding charging from 5-9 pm Monday through Friday or enroll it in VEC's communications platform to receive another $50 upfront incentive and $8/month as long as they do not opt out of events.

Washington Electric Co-op provides eligible members with a NO COST ChargePoint Flex Type II home charger when enrolled in their Powershift program. Members pay for installation.

Burlington Electric Department eligible customers are able to receive a rebate of $2,300 on the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle (EV) or $2,000 toward a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV).

Burlington Electric Department eligible customers are able to receive a rebate of $1,300 rebate for the purchase of a pre-owned EV or PHEV, with an additional $200 available for moderate income customers. Eligible vehicles must have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price less than or equal to $60,000.

Mileagesmart is offering up to $5,000 towards the purchase of a used hybrid or electric vehicle.

Green Mountain Power provides residential and business customers rebates of $2,200 for the purchase of a new EV, $1,000 for the purchase of a new PHEV, $1,500 for the purchase of a used EV, $750 for the purchase of a used PHEV and $500 for the purchase of an electric motorcycle. Customers with qualifying low and moderate household incomes are eligible for an additional $1,000 rebate. EVs must have an MSRP that is less than or equal to $70,000.

Stowe Electric Department offers customers rebates for the purchase or lease of EVs. The purchase or lease of new EVs and PHEVs are eligible for a $750 rebate. Stowe Electric also offers a $300 rebate for the purchase of pre-owned EVs and PHEVs. Income-qualifying customers are eligible for an additional $300 rebate for either vehicle.

Vermont Electric Co-op offers a $500 bill credit to members who purchase a new or pre-owned EV and a $250 bill credit to members who purchase a new or pre-owned PEV. Members who lease an EV are eligible for an annual bill credit of $100 for each year of the lease, and members who lease an PHEV are eligible for an annual bill credit of $50 for each year of the lease. Income qualified members receive an additional $250 VEC incentive.
